The spiral at the center of this piece of jewelry has the same shape as those that people have carved in stone and pressed into metal for longer than anyone can remember. I created it for those who feel something when looking at it - who wear it on their ankle and look at it throughout the day.

The spiral is made from a single continuous strip of copper, hand-wound from the center outwards, then attached to a band that I shape separately and gently curve to fit properly around the ankle. People who wear copper on their ankles tell me that their joints feel more stable - their knees, their feet, the parts that support everything.

This is one of the last anklets I will make before closing my workshop. I hope the spiral finds the ankle it belongs to.
